Paging systems kind of seem like a technology of the past, don’t they? With cell phones, who needs a numeric pager these days? However, while teens, and even adults, frantically text each other on cell phones, there are some instances where cell phones, believe it or not, are less effective than paging systems.
If you’ve browsed through our site, you know hospitals are one of our biggest customers. Cell phones can interfere with other, more critical, equipment. So, they use a paging system. But that’s kind of obvious. Paging, Dr. Common Sense.
However, aside from hospitals, modern paging systems have also proved effective in a few other fields.
Night Clubs
Most night clubs are dark, crowded, alcohol-infused frenzies. And, amidst the jam-packed dance floor and bars, bouncers are expected to navigate and maintain order. If you’ve ever been in a night club, you know it’s difficult to simply talk to the person next to you. Now, imagine trying to get the attention of someone across the club because you need assistance. Paging systems with a locating feature and group messaging can make a security detail’s job considerably easier.
Shopping Malls
Shopping malls are similar to night clubs. Well, there aren’t as many strobe lights and alcoholic beverages. But they’re big venues that are patrolled by a limited number of workers. Paging systems, however, can alert security and store staffs about disturbances, shoplifters, evacuations, and more.
Stadiums & Resorts
Paging systems don’t have to only be associated with wrong-doings and unfortunate accidents. Sometimes it can simply be used to enhance a fun time. When at an event or kicking back at a resort, food and beverage requests can be made pagers to the wait staff, providing location and name of guest requesting service. In this situation, you can still use the technology to boost security, but you can also enhance the efficiency of your business.
