TTI Guardian

At Turn-Key Technologies, our emphasis is directed towards Healthcare, Department of Defense, State and Local Government, and Manufacturing where time critical communications are essential. And our products are designed for just these areas. Our latest addition to our product line has been the TTI Guardian, a wireless duress and emergency notification system that incorporates personal duress alarms, mass notifications, acknowledged paging and man-down or no-movement alarms. The TTI Guardian has potential to drastically improve your working environment.

Let’s start off with an anecdote. Carl Jones works the night shift on a lightly-manned security detail at a local power plant. Just like every other night, Carl strolls down the desolate hallways on his 2 AM perimeter check. As he rounds a corner, he feels a sharp pain shoot up his arm. Carl quickly realizes he’s having a heart attack, but the excruciating pain causes him to collapse to the floor before he can call for help. Carl lies on floor unconscious for nearly 45 minutes before his co-workers realize something is wrong and find him.

Granted, this isn’t the most uplifting anecdote, but it sheds light on the dangers lone workers can encounter. However, we're working to improve the safety of lone workers with paging alarm systems.

The Guardian has a lone worker feature. When working by yourself, such as in Carl’s scenario, the Guardian allows you to activate a no-response feature. When activated, the no-response feature sends periodic alerts that require an acknowledgment from the worker. Once two consecutive alerts are missed, the Guardian sends out an alert to all other pagers on the network with information on who is not responding and where they are.

Safety is not just limited to lone workers, though. The Guardian’s system is being utilized in hospital paging systems, RFID systems, schools, courtrooms, detention centers, etc. Alerts and messages can be sent instantaneously across the network informing others of potential danger and the location of that danger. While stories such as Carl’s are frightening, it’s good to see people are taking the right steps towards taking care of one another.
